What is the EnergySure Coalition?
The EnergySure Coalition is a group of businesses, organizations and individuals across North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia and beyond that is standing up for reliable energy in our region. Increased demand for energy is expected to continue growing in both Virginia and North Carolina. The approximately 600-mile Atlantic Coast Pipeline (ACP) is designed to make our region energy sure by connecting us to an abundant supply of affordable, cleaner-burning natural gas. With the ACP, we also will benefit from cleaner air, lower energy costs and job creation. EnergySure’s goal is to educate, share facts and participate in informed discussions about the ACP and its vital role in meeting the region's energy needs. 

What does it mean to be energy sure?
It means addressing our urgent and growing need for cleaner, reliable and affordable energy. The ACP is designed to make our region energy sure by connecting us to the nation’s largest supply of natural gas — increasing our energy security, lowering energy costs, promoting cleaner air and creating thousands of jobs in West Virginia, Virginia and North Carolina.

How was EnergySure created?
The EnergySure Coalition was formed to meet the desire of project supporters to join with two ACP partners — Dominion Energy and Duke Energy — to provide a platform for informed discussions about the project.

Our business and organization supporters represent thousands of members across North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia and beyond who understand the importance of meeting the critical energy needs of our region.

Who's funding the EnergySure initiative?
The ACP partners — Dominion Energy and Duke Energy — have sponsored the coalition to provide a platform for informed discussions about the project. The region’s increased demand for energy is expected to continue growing in both states. The ACP partners serve millions of homes and businesses that depend on the companies to meet their energy needs. The EnergySure Coalition was created as a platform for these consumer voices to be heard.

Who can join the coalition?
Any business, organization or individual who is willing to stand up for reliable energy for our region — and understand the ACP’s important role in meeting our growing energy needs — is encouraged to join.
