Seize Opportunity

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission is considering approval of the Atlantic Coast Pipeline, a 600-mile interstate natural gas transmission pipeline that will run through the commonwealth. I believe the FERC should give its approval as soon as possible and our state leaders should publicly support this vital project.

The ACP will be good for Virginia by providing badly needed energy to millions of homes, businesses and consumers. Additionally, the pipeline will help create jobs during and after construction, giving the Old Dominion an economic boost. It will further help boost the economy by providing low-cost energy to businesses and families, lowering the cost of living and the price of goods and services.

The ACP could give Virginia's economy the jolt it needs to return to real growth, while providing residents with cleaner, affordable energy. I'm in favor of long-term research into cleaner energy, but we need usable energy resources now while we look for better solar, wind and hydrogen fusion energy sources.
