ISLE OF WIGHT COUNTY, Va. — Representatives of the Atlantic Coast Pipeline, a project Isle of Wight County is advertising to potential gas-using clients, will host an expo in Chesapeake Tuesday, explaining how to be involved with the line.

The proposed 600-mile natural gas pipeline was announced in 2014 by Gov. Terry McAuliffe. The line would service the state with natural gas from northeastern West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Ohio. Though the line hasn't yet been fully approved, Isle of Wight County has begun to use the possibility of the line as a marketing tool to potential gas-using clients for its intermodal park. Kristi Sutphin, economic development coordinator, sent out an announcement about the expo Thursday morning.

Dominion Resources Inc. partnered with Duke Energy, Piedmont Natural Gas and AGL Resources for the pipeline. The expo will be in the Chesapeake Conference Center at 700 Conference Center Drive, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The project's lead construction contractor, Spring Ridge Constructors, will discuss local business opportunities, according to a news release from Dominion. Businesses are invited to learn how to become a subcontractor, vendor or supplier, it said.
