CLARKSBURG, W.V. — "While some people in Harrison County are fighting to keep the Atlantic Coast Pipeline from being built, others are welcoming what many officials are calling the jobs pipeline.

Kathy Wagner, Harrison County Chamber of Commerce President said, "It's going to be great for all of North Central west Virginia and we are just pleased that Dominion is hosting this and making it available to local contractors and making it available to as many local people as possible. We just want everyone to be on board and grow our economy."

On Tuesday, Dominion hosted a Construction Expo for the proposed 600 mile Atlantic Coast Pipeline.

Aaron Ruby, Dominion Community Relations said, "It's going to transport natural gas that is being produced right here in West Virginia down to communities in Virginia and North Carolina."

The pipeline is estimated to generate more than 3,000 construction jobs and contribute nearly $10.7 million in annual local property tax throughout West Virginia.

David Barnett, Pipeline Representative for the United Association of Plumbers & Pipefitters said, "It's going to give the Marcellus shale a lot of take away capacity which is much needed right now for those folks who drill those wells who need to sell that gas."

Welders, teamsters, operators, and businesses are encouraged to apply online for the project.

Ruby added, "You can sign up and register as a vendor or a skilled laborer there it's dom.com/acpvendor and that's the place where we encourage people to register."

Construction is scheduled to begin in the Fall of 2017.
