Overwhelming Support for the ACP
Thanks to thousands of Americans like you who believe in access to affordable, reliable energy, more than 10,000 petition signers have shown their support for the Atlantic Coast Pipeline. All of you know that without this new infrastructure, jobs, workers and communities are on the line.

North Carolina’s Impact
The ACP received another significant show of support recently when six mayors in eastern North Carolina banded together to back the project in an open letter. The letter senders wrote:

“We believe this is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to revitalize our economy and breathe new life into our communities. Our region desperately needs new infrastructure to attract the industries and jobs of the modern economy. Our current infrastructure is outdated and cannot support manufacturing or other new industries that we need to grow. These industries are passing over our communities and locating in other regions with more reliable infrastructure and access to natural gas.

Without decent jobs or a growing economy, our young people are leaving our communities in the hope of finding opportunity elsewhere.”

What’s Next?
The team behind the Atlantic Coast Pipeline intends to resume construction as soon as possible, once the courts resolve the permitting authorization issues. The current timeline means the ACP will be partially in-service in late 2020 and fully in-service during 2021.

Regardless of temporary delays, completing the ACP is essential to meeting the energy needs of millions of Americans. As the urgent need to complete this project grows, so does our support—we thank you and the thousands of other Americans who continue to support this project. We know that the jobs and economic boost created by the pipeline will have lasting and positive effects on the communities it serves. The ACP team is committed to seeing the project through to completion—to get people back to work and for the good of our entire region.
