Over the last two and a half years, hundreds of businesses and economic development organizations from the EnergySure Coalition have spoken out in support of affordable natural gas for our region and the proposed Atlantic Coast Pipeline. As the project nears final approval this fall, economic development groups from North Carolina and Virginia are reiterating their support for the project and urging its approval by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.

President and CEO, NCEast Alliance.
“The Atlantic Coast Pipeline will help Eastern North Carolina heat and power the growing number of homes and businesses in our region. Our region is a great place to work and live, and the Atlantic Coast Pipeline will provide cleaner, more reliable energy for the people of Eastern North Carolina."
Executive Director, Virginia Growth Alliance
“The natural gas the ACP brings to our region will help make us competitive with other parts of the country as businesses look to grow or expand their business domestically. Further, the pipeline would provide a dependable supply of natural gas for electric utilities in the region to serve our current businesses with a reliable and cleaner energy supply. This access will make it easier for existing businesses to continue success or expand their operations right here in Central and Southside Virginia.”
President and CEO, Carolinas Gateway Partnership
“Nash and Edgecombe counties offer an exceptional opportunity for companies looking to relocate or expand, and the Atlantic Coast Pipeline will meet the growing energy demand from these new businesses. The pipeline will provide the low-cost, clean energy necessary to bring more businesses to our region.”
Executive Director, Research Triangle Regional Partnership
“The RTRP's mission is to keep good things happening in our region. The Atlantic Coast Pipeline will bring cleaner energy, new industries and stable electricity prices to the Research Triangle Region, which will allow us to continue to be one of the best places to work and live.”
President and CEO, Franklin-Southampton Economic Development, Inc.
“By expanding access to natural gas in underserved regions, the Atlantic Coast Pipeline will allow communities like Franklin-Southampton and the greater Hampton Roads region grow our economies while providing a resource that will allow for further expansion of renewables. Tapping into our nation’s abundant supply of natural gas will allow us to improve our local economy all while improving the quality of our environment.”
Director, Northampton County Economic Development Commission
“The Atlantic Coast Pipeline will bring a much-needed economic boost to Northampton County, stabilizing electricity prices and generating new local tax revenue. It will also create higher-wage employment opportunities, increasing the standard of living for the people of Northampton County.”
Executive Director, Halifax County Economic Development Commission
“The construction of the Atlantic Coast Pipeline will support the creation of new jobs and investment in Halifax County, and it will help us retain and expand our current business and industry. Reliable, low-cost energy will increase consumer savings and create an estimated $5 million in tax revenue for our county over the next 10 years.”
