In this editorial, the Richmond Times-Dispatch explores the lessons to be learned from similar Massachusetts pipeline needs and energy demands, and the importance of remaining proactive in the pursuit of reliable and adequate infrastructure.

From the article:

"All analogies are inexact, and the circumstances that prevail in Massachusetts differ in some particulars from the circumstances here in Virginia. But the broader point holds: Natural gas is much cleaner than coal, and piped gas is much cleaner than compressed and liquefied gas. So while Virginians might not enjoy all of the direct benefits of projects such as the Atlantic Coast and Mountain Valley pipelines, they will contribute to an energy market that needs natural gas to backstop renewable energy for years to come."
